Gleva vs Shotsy: Two Approaches to GLP-1 Tracking

·3 min read

Shotsy is the established, comprehensive GLP-1 log. Gleva is being built around correlation. An honest comparison, including the part where one of them has not shipped.

The honest disclaimer first

Shotsy is a released, widely used GLP-1 tracking app with a large user base. Gleva is in development and has not launched.

So this is not a comparison of two products you can download and judge for yourself today. It is an explanation of how our approach differs from the most established app in this space, written by the people building the one that does not exist yet. Read it with that in mind, and treat the Shotsy description as a starting point for your own look rather than the final word.

What Shotsy does

Shotsy is a comprehensive GLP-1 log. It covers shot history, dose tracking, injection site rotation, side effect logging, weight and nutrition tracking, reminders, and PDF export for appointments. It is built specifically for GLP-1 users rather than adapted from a general weight-loss app, and it has been doing that for long enough to have a substantial community behind it.

If you want a thorough, proven place to record everything about your treatment, that is a real and well-established option, and the fact that it already exists is not a small advantage.

Where Gleva differs

Gleva is built around a narrower claim: that the hard part is not recording the data but seeing what it means.

By month three you have doses, side effects, weights and notes about food. The questions you actually have are relational — does the nausea track my dose increases or my meals? Is this a plateau or a normal flat fortnight? Did the last increase make things measurably worse, or does it just feel that way?

Answering those means holding several series against each other. That is what we are building toward: correlation and pattern surfacing as the primary feature, with logging as the thing that feeds it.

The trade-off

A tighter focus means a smaller product. There will be things Shotsy does that Gleva does not, especially early on. Choosing a narrower tool is a real trade-off, not a free upgrade.

There is also the obvious one: Shotsy is available now and Gleva is not. If you are starting treatment this month, that difference outweighs every design argument on this page.

How to choose

Choose a comprehensive log if you want breadth, want it today, and are comfortable doing the interpretation yourself or with your provider.

Wait for Gleva if your frustration is specifically that you have plenty of data and no idea what it is telling you — and if you can afford to wait.

Try both eventually. Export exists for a reason. Any tracker worth using lets you take your history with you, and we would rather you leave with your data than stay because you cannot.

What we will not claim

We are not going to tell you that Gleva is better than an app that has shipped and helped a lot of people while ours is still being built. We think the correlation-first approach is the right one, which is why we are building it. Whether it works better for you is something you will get to judge when there is something to judge.
